Appearance
- Mammals have an outer covering of hair or fur on their bodies. Some mammals have thick fur (tiger) and others have fine hair (humans).
Reproduction
- Most mammals give birth to their young alive. However, there are a few mammals that lay eggs such as the Duckbilled Platypus and the Spiny Anteater.
- The female mammals produce milk for their young.
Habitat
- Most mammals live on land. For example, cows, zebras and monkeys live on land.
- Some mammals live in the water such as the whale and dolphin.
- Bat is a mammal and it flies!
